23.12.2009 Article "Team Coaching International" Extraordinary teams produce extraordinary results. Team Coaching International offers extraordinary tools, extraordinary training and extraordinary support to create extraordinary teams.
Today, our corporate cultures are a mix of nested, cross functional, project and virtual teams. Adding to the mix of team types is the impact of changing economic conditions or any of the many changes that occur in our workplaces. The pressure is on! Teams are expected to perform at rapid rates and produce extraordinary results.
Team Coaching International offers the technology that can make this happen by offering a different approach.
What is different about the approach?
1. We work with the team as a system.
By system we mean the synergy of the team. Teams are not simply a machine with replaceable parts. Teams are a living, dynamic system with spoken and unspoken rules, vision, blind spots, expectations and moods. Team Coaching coaches the “whole” of the team, not the individual parts.
2. We use the state of the art Team Diagnostic Model and corresponding Team Diagnostic Assessment.
The Team Diagnostic Model is based on two principles. The first is that teams exist to produce results. The second is that in order to sustain the results, teams need to develop relationships that motivate and sustain the results. The model defines seven Productivity factors and seven Positivity factors and provides a complete picture for high performing teams.
3. The Team Diagnostic Assessment provides a benchmark and a detailed map for on-going team development.
Team members go online to take the Team Diagnostic Assessment. The questions are directed at each member’s experience of the team as a whole, rather then an assessment of themselves or of other team members. The result is a candid and comprehensive team profile that highlights the strengths and opportunities for the team. Since the assessment is confidential and anonymous a more honest assessment is produced. This is not a generic survey. A report is created from the results of the assessment. The profile graphically displays a footprint of the team and clearly identifies areas to leverage team skills to build positivity and productivity.
After the team takes the Team Diagnostic Assessment, a personalized workshop is designed based on the results. The average workshop is two days, off site. However, the length of time can be designed depending on the needs of the team. During the workshop the results of the test are explored with the team through conversations and experiential exercises. By the end of the workshop the team is ready to create a contract for moving forward with specific goals.
The team is coached two hours a month, once a month, for an average of six months after the workshop. Too often, the learning from workshops is forgotten the day after the workshop. Team Coaching knows this and makes sure that the value to the company continues by deepening the learning through the continued coaching.
After the agreed upon period of team coaching, the Team Diagnostic Assessment is taken again by the team. The second report indicates the progress the team has made. In other words, the Team Diagnostic Assessment provides measurable results.
Extraordinary teams produce extraordinary results. How extraordinary do you want your team and results to be in 2010?
