On 31 March 2009 Concept held The Bigger Game demonstrational workshop

To find out more about The Bigger Game you can read the article written by Debby Doig which is called “The Bigger Game”.  Read the article

The participants of the Bigger Game workshop were senior manager of different companies including Coca-Cola, EMC, JTI, Data Creative Bureau, Sun Microsystems, Medem.

AltAt the beginning of the workshop all participants were welcomed by Rachel Shackleton, General Director of Concept. She also introduced an experienced American coach Debby Doig to the participants. Then Debby explained what The Bigger Game is. She told that life of every person could be called “The Bigger Game” and everyone had its own Bigger Game. The Bigger Game board is divided on nine squares. Each square symbolizes some step in person’s life or person’s condition in the moment. Then Debby introduced a plan of the workshop.

Debby suggested that all participants present themselves and to tell some words about themselves.  After it, every participant was asked to divide his life into three parts and define three moments which he could be really proud of. Debby explained that it could help everybody imagine their lives as the Bigger Game board.

AltThen all participants were asked, without knowing squares’ definition, to follow their intuition and choose any square that could characterize their inner condition at the moment. Then everyone should describe the chosen square and their condition accordingly. After this exercise was finished, Debby offered to work out common definition for each square for not to have misunderstanding during the next parts of the workshop.

For better understand the concept of the Bigger Game, Debby used her own experience to demonstrate how her condition had been changing during different periods of time. She told how she, even being a child, decided to visit Russia, how she put her wish into reality and how her impressions were changing.

AltIn the course of the workshop, workbooks with exercises were used. Participant learnt how to apply the Bigger Game technology to their own lives by doing exercises from workbooks. During the first exercise participants learnt how to identify their "comfort zones", what opportunities are got lost ("what price is paid") in the situations and advantages that these zones gave to them.

During the second exercise participants tried to identify what they «hungered» for (what were their necessities and wishes). «Hunger» is something that you really-really want. You can identify your hunger by answering three questions:

1)  "No, not that"!

2) "What’s missing"?
3) "I want more of that"!

These questions were needed to be answered by the participants in couples. Based on these answers, participants could define their compelling purposes.

AltThe Bigger Game workshop is supposed to be held for two days. During these days participants make detailed analysis of each square of the game board, do a lot of exercises, which help them to define their own condition and discover areas for further development. In the course of demonstrational workshop, all participants could understand the concept and the technology of the Bigger Game and do several exercises.

I the end of the event, Debby thanked everybody for their participation and wished to “play the Bigger Game”.

Concept would like to thank Debby Doig and all the participants!
